Submission for April 2026 meeting of “Your Most Challenging Image of All Time”

Description: In 1982, I took a night photography class at Nashville State Tech. An assignment for the class was to do a photo essay. I decided to photograph street vendors. I think this was challenginging in many ways. First, back in the day I went out lone as a young woman finding and asking permission to photograph these individuals. Second, I used 35mm black and white film so I was limited in the number of images. Third, I had to develop the images in the darkroom with controlling only the exposure with burning and dodgjng. Finally, I was surprised that the images were still in such good shape. I scanned some of them. I arranged them in a collage in photoshop for this image because it was a challenging and memorable experience.
